Appointment

Your specialist or GP will arrange an outpatient or counselling appointment for you and will send us all relevant findings, images and documents in advance.

Outpatient appointment

We will examine you thoroughly and clarify the opportunities, risks and possible side effects of radiotherapy. (Duration: about 30 to 60 minutes)

Planning CT scan

A CT scan of you in your radiotherapy position will be created. (Duration: about 20 to 30 minutes)

Radiotherapy planning

In this CT scan, tumour areas and risk factors are recorded, the individual radiation parameters are planned, and the dose distribution to be expected is calculated and optimised. (Duration: about 3 to 10 days)

First radiotherapy session

You will be positioned on the (very hard) radiotherapy couch exactly as in the planning CT. This is checked again with x-ray images. After checking all radiotherapy parameters, the first radiotherapy is performed.
(Total duration approx. 30 min)

Subsequent radiotherapy

Afterwards, you will receive radiotherapy each work day for a few weeks. The radiotherapy itself takes only a few minutes and is completely painless.

Procedural checks

Position checks and consultations with the physician take place at least once a week throughout the course of radiotherapy.

Aftercare

After the radiotherapy has been completed, you will need to attend regular aftercare examinations.
